Great place, it's very clean untouched feel.

Great little beach. Can be a bit of a muddy trek down to the sand from the parking lot when it has been rainy. Normally safe to snorkel, can be murky at times. Decent surf break beyond the left side. Trail up by the picnic tables lead to a few more beaches and the abandoned molokai ranch tent lodge.

Love swimming in this cove.

Public parking is close by, protected cove keeps the waves down some.

Nothing pristine about this beach...but it's low key...like most things on Molokai.

Good place to relax.

Kids totally had a blast. Can't wait to return!

Dixie beach is a tucked away hidden gem on the west side of Molokai. At the end of the road, you will find a short driveway to the parking lot that has a shower and a trash can for your convenience. It's just a short walk on a dirt path from there to the calm waters of this reef protected Beach. The waters are very calm with nearly no waves whatsoever, and the remoteness practically guarantees this beach will be mostly deserted. Since there aren't really waves, the water is a little muddled and there are patches where the sand gives way to mud underneath, but it is perfect for a calm swim. The real standout of the beach is the attendant, Dixie. Dixie is an American Shorthair and he is the most courteous and attentive beach attendant i have ever encountered. He knows when to leave you alone and when you want attention. As we were leaving, he was waiting by our car to make sure we were happy with our service. He did ask for a tip, which was a little off putting, but we feel like he really earned it. At least, i think he was asking for a tip, i don't speak cat. He was definitely meowing loudly, so we left him some strawberry bread from Kanemitsu bakery we were going to throw out. Dixie impressed us again with his intelligence when he followed my lead after i pointed to the bread and told him in human that the bread was over by the shower. Dixie seemed very happy with his tip and we were very happy with his service. Will return again!
